ThermoSafe Brands acquires GREENBOX

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, ILLINOIS – (June 21, 2010). Tegrant Corporation’s, President & CEO Ronald Leach, and ThermoSafe Brands’ President Colleen Bohn announced the acquisition of GREENBOX™ from Entropy Solutions Inc. for an undisclosed amount. In addition to the acquisition the two companies have entered into an exclusive worldwide License Agreement for PureTemp™ Phase Change Materials within the Life Sciences marketplace and an on-going Technology Development Agreement between ThermoSafe Brands and Entropy Solutions Inc.

The new ThermoSafe Brands GREENBOX is an award-winning sustainable package system that is designed for the safe transportation of temperature-sensitive products.  GREENBOX is the first temperature-controlled shipper to incorporate the fully bio-based, nontoxic, and biodegradable PureTemp Phase Change Material. Each PureTemp material is a specially engineered plant-oil derivative that helps to control temperatures ranging from the extremes of dry ice to hot coffee. The most common PureTemp formulations focus on frozen (under 0º C), refrigerated (2-8º C), and room temperature (20-25º C) applications.
